IGTM Annual Conference: Postponed

IGTM Annual Conference: Postponed

"Dominican Culture, Dominican Theology" (University of Copenhagen, 23-26 June 2020).

Moved to 2021 - verschoben auf 2021!

Dear Members and Friends of IGTM,
Difficult times require difficult decisions. We as the Members of the Board of IGTM fully support the decision by the organizers of this year’s conference, Florian Wöller, John Slotemaker, and Ueli Zahnd, to move the “Dominican Culture, Dominican Theology” conference, which was planned for June 2020, to next year at about the same time:

„Dear participants, dear colleagues,
Just shortly after we had sent out our last update, a series of academic conferences similar to ours as well as the IMC Leeds were cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic. So maybe you have already been anticipating that also we have now decided to postpone our conference from this to next June. As you can imagine, we did not take this decision lightly. But after consulting with colleagues and partners of the event we came to the conclusion that to postpone the conference, in the light of the current situation, is indeed reasonable, not least because even if the situation changes for the better here in Denmark or in other countries or regions before the end of June, it is highly unlikely that participation will be possible for all. But while this is sad news, we are also glad that our sponsors, the International Society for the Study of Medieval Theology (IGTM), and last but not least my excellent colleagues at the Faculty of Theology agreed to moving the conference to 29 June to 2 July 2021. With this, we can now ‘simply’ move everything to the new date and hope that you are coming along. So please block the new dates in your calendars and postpone your preparation for this year’s conference to next year. We will of course send updates along the way. But in the meantime we sincerely hope that you stay healthy or recover swiftly. And of course John Slotemaker, Ueli Zahnd, and I hope to see you next year in Copenhagen! På glædeligt gensyn!

All best wishes, indeed,
Florian Wöller, Associate Professor, Ph.d., University of Copenhagen“

This means that our IGTM general assembly will also be postponed until 2021. An invitation will be sent to you next spring, well before the beginning of the conference.
We hope this letter finds you and your family well and we hope to see you in Copenhagen in 2021 for what is definitely going to be a great conference.
Sincerely,
Dr. Dr. Krijn Pansters

Dr. Dr. Krijn Pansters
